In the Spring of 2016, Islam Manasra decided to return to Palestine and join Solutions after spending the majority of his life in the United States of America. He returned to Palestine with the desire to utilize the education and knowledge he possesses for the purpose of supporting economic and business development in Palestine. Islam is an attorney and consultant who has worked professionally since 2014.
Islam possesses the unique ability of combining knowledge from several academic disciplines and professional specializations in approaching projects and solving issues. Islam holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) degree from the University of California at Davis. The focus of his studies revolved around international trade and dispute resolution. He is a member of the State Bar of California. Moreover, Islam holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley. His studies focused on economic development in the 20th century and economic inequality.
During 2014 and 2015, Islam Manasra worked as an advisor at the Office of Audit and Management Advisory Services at the University of California at Davis. There, he performed full scope financial, operational, functional, investigative, and compliance consultation. Additionally, he examined and analyzed performance of organizations, policies, procedures, and administrative practices.
At Solutions, Islam Manasra has worked on projects related to investment enhancement and agricultural development. He completed a project in which he researched the status of Palestinian economy since the signing of the Oslo Accords in 1993 and the impact of foreign direct investment on the economy.
Additionally, Islam completed a major study on agriculture in which he conducted a market system analysis on three vegetable commodities and sheep and goat dairy products. The study included conducting over 75 field interviews, 3,000 questionnaires, and stakeholders' focus groups and workshops.
Islam Manasra continues to be extremely excited about working on future projects that advance Palestinian economic development and support Palestinian business advance. Islam is currently working on two major studies related to the advance of agriculture knowledge in Palestine and the exporting of specific commodities to international markets.
